With thousands of Nissan LEAFs already on the road and the innovative all-electric car soon to be on sale in more U.S. cities around the country, Nissan is out to keep the momentum rolling with the launch of phase two of its “Drive Electric Tour.” The tour, which focuses on allowing people to experience the efficiency and practicality of pure-electric driving, originally ran from October 2010 through March of 2011 and provided approximately 50,000 Nissan LEAF test drives across the nation.
The next stage of the Drive Electric Tour began in July in Long Island, N.Y., and is scheduled to visit 25 more U.S. cities before finishing up in Miami in January of 2012. And in addition to providing thousands of test drives, the tour also will provide a chance for people to learn more about other aspects of the LEAF and its impressive new technologies, as well as allow current LEAF owners to share their experiences.
“As the Nissan LEAF gains momentum in its U.S. rollout, more consumers have expressed the desire to get behind the wheel and experience gas-free driving for themselves,” said Jon Brancheau, vice president, Marketing, Nissan North America. “We’re thrilled to bring the ‘Drive Electric Tour’ to new cities across the country, as well as revisit several key markets where consumer interest continues to grow.”
The LEAF is now on sale in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Tennessee, Texas, Oregon and Washington, and will roll out to new states throughout 2012.
